Runified Podcast

The Runified Podcast is where we come together and talk with runners about their stories. We believe that anyone who runs is a runner, no matter the pace or distance. We also believe that runners are more than just runners. With these beliefs, the Runified Podcast will tell stories about what makes runners who they are, beyond the training and racing. Our hope is that these stories will change the way runners of all abilities think about running, and motivate you to live your own story with endurance, strength, and joy.

Bernie Calcote lives in Austin, Texas, is married with three kids and is a home builder. After getting married Bernie started running to keep his wife company when she was running early in the morning. Running enabled Bernie to further connect with and love his wife, but what he didn’t expect was to also fall in love with running. Bernie describes how trail running allows him to connect with himself and the creator. We talk about making running a priority and how Bernie and his wife have used running to help the adoption community through the Chosen Half Marathon and 5K in New Braunfels, TX. Not only have they been able to raise money for the general cause and specific families, but they also have used the race to support their own adoption. Bernie shares some great running advice and challenges our community to make the sacrifice to go run.
